Shoe Recommendations

For many people, the right shoe can be the difference between having foot pain and walking comfortably through the day.

The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) has a program that applies a Seal of Approval to products including shoes, inserts, and other foot care products.  You can explore a comprehensive list here.

For the majority of patients with chronic foot pain, or for those who have had surgery on their foot or ankle, I typically recommend that they spend the majority of their time in a well-fitted, supportive running shoe.  Barefoot walking, particularly on hard surfaces like tile floors, should be avoided.
